The ladies from the national setup put eleven goals past Winchester FC in a bid for the second spot with one last round to play in the Football Association of Singapore’s Women Premier League.
The top two teams in the league will be seeded in the Challenge Cup happening in October this year, all teams would want to avoid the almighty Tanjong Pagar United who hold an impressive record of scoring 82 goals in 13 games.
Young Women started the game with their strongest line up. With Winchester FC making some key defensive mistakes, the home side were six goals up in the opening twenty minutes with four different scorers.
Young Women did not look like they are anywhere off their paddle in the second half and continued to press on with striker Lim Lee Xian completing her hat trick in the 65th minute. Young Women holds on to their third spot just one point behind Middle Rangers who will have to meet Police Sports Association Womens FC in the final round of the competition.
