Warriors through after tough battle against Protectors

The first round of the FAS Centre Of Excellence Under 14 Challenge Cup saw traditional rivals Home United FC take on Singapore Armed Forces FC in the Preliminary round at the St Wilfrid Sports Complex on Wednesday evening.

Both the Junior Protectors and Warriors dished out some great football and it definitely live up to a derby game between the two uniform teams. Right from the kick off, both sides put in their hundred percent as the players knew the importance of progressing through to the next round.
The game was eventually decided by an own goal in the 33rd minute from Home United no 8 Khoo Yao Xiang. SAFFC Under 14 progress to the quarter finals where they will face Hougang United for a spot in the semis.
In the other Preliminary round match played on Wednesday evening, Geylang United Under-14 brushed aside Tanjong Pagar United Under-14 4-0 to advance to the next round.

Fixtures of the two-legged quarter-finals will be announced at a later date.
